Description

The Old School House and The Stone House form a pair of buildings dated 187?. Originally the village school, the main building is L-shaped. The south-east wing is single-storey with one large and one small gable. The north wing is two-storey with two gabled dormers, and a small gabled projection at its north end. The buildings are constructed of stone with tiled roofs and feature casement windows and a gabled porch. The Stone House, likely the schoolmaster’s original residence, shares the same date, style and materials, with a south-facing gable, a gabled dormer to the north, and a porch with a tiled roof. It is two storeys high with two windows. In 1977 the school building was undergoing conversion into a dwelling.
