Description
The Old School and attached School House is a disused building from the mid-19th century, constructed from squared coursed limestone and yellow brick. It has a T-shaped plan, with the school being a single-storey structure and the house being two-storey. The main front features three bays, with the left bay serving as the former school room, which projects forward as a gabled cross wing. This bay includes a four-light stone mullion window with a transom. The two bays to the left comprise the schoolmaster's house, which has a three-light stone mullion window on the ground floor to the right and a similar two-light window on the first floor, topped with a gablet. The central door from the 19th century has a four-centred arch head and a chamfered stone surround. The building features an ashlar gable parapet and stone stacks at each end, with tall, diagonal brick flues. There is a single-storey extension attached to the left and a lean-to extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
