Description

The Chestnuts is an early 18th-century house located in Pilton. It is constructed of regular coursed limestone and has a thatched roof. Originally a single-unit plan, the house is a single storey with an attic. It features a single-window range of 19th-century casement windows, with an attic window positioned under an eyebrow dormer. A 19th-century plank door is situated on the right-hand side, set beneath a wooden lintel. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. A 19th-century lean-to has been added to the left side. The interior was noted to contain the remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer, though it has not been inspected.
