Sandhaven Corn Mill, Main Street, Sandhaven

Sandhaven Corn Mill is an early 19th-century rectangular mill and kiln, consisting of different builds and standing two storeys high. It features a lean-to projecting wing at the rear, forming an L-plan. The building is constructed from dark whinstone rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The main entrance is located in the center of the south elevation, with an additional entrance in the rear wing. The kiln on the west side has a blocked window on the ground floor of its west gable, along with a central kiln window in both the gable and south elevation. Two windows illuminate the south elevation of the mill.

The roofs are covered with slate and include an octagonal ridge vent for the kiln, topped with a silhouette of a pig that serves as a wind vane. On the east side, there is a wheel gable that retains the remains of an overshot 8-spoke wheel, which was served by a trough lade.

Inside the mill, all machinery is intact, including an electric motor that powered the mill during its final years of operation. Other interior features include a built-in hinged top desk for the miller's use.
