Description

Later 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay, symmetrical,

rectangular-plan cottage. Coursed rubble with polished pink sandstone margins and dressings, harl-pointed side elevations incorporating unusual large rubble blocks. Base course; long and short ashlar quoins; stop-chamfered arrises to margins. Shoulder- arched openings, round-headed timber frames to windows at 1st floor. Projecting eaves, exposed rafters.

N ELEVATION: door at centre, 4-panelled, plate glass fanlight;

flanking bipartites. Broad, gabled bipartite dormerheads, floral

medallions at centre of gablehead; small, round-headed dormer at centre, lead roof.

E AND W ELEVATIONS: broad gable, windows at ground and 1st floor to rear; helm-roofed single, storey addition at rear.

Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof, overhanging eaves; broad, corniced sandstone stacks with octagonal cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.
