St Clair Cottage, Pierowall, Westray

St Clair Cottage, located in Pierowall, Westray, is a single-storey, three-bay cottage built in the mid to late 19th century. The cottage has flagstone walls with slaister pointing and features a 20th-century single-storey timber boarded extension on a concrete plinth to the east.

The south elevation, which is the principal elevation, has a central door flanked by windows. To the right is the timber boarded extension, with a door to the left and three windows to the right. The east elevation has a window that is off centre to the left. On the north elevation, there are two windows in the extension on the right and one window to the left. The west elevation features a plain gable wall.

The interior was not seen in 2000, but the cottage includes timber boarded doors and 12-pane and 4-pane timber sash and case windows. It has a pitched roof with large flagstones, coped gable end stacks, and circular cans. The extension has a tarred asphalt roof.

There are outbuildings associated with the cottage, including one to the southeast with a lean-to roof and a door to the south, and another to the south with a lean-to roof and a door to the east. Additionally, there are circular cans, with one located at the west stack and two at the east stack.
