Description
Gill Pier in Westray dates from the 18th to 19th century and is a linear structure. The lower portion of the pier to the east features vertically set flagstones, while horizontally laid flagstones are found above and at the end of the pier. The southernmost point of the pier is covered with metal cladding, and the western side is clad in concrete. A wall has been built up to the east. Steps integrated into the western wall of the pier provide access to vessels. To the west of the pier, there is a flagstone slip with a concrete surface, and a smaller slip extends eastward from the northern point of the slip.
