Description

South Queensferry Harbour is a 16th-century structure that was rebuilt in 1817. It consists of two piers: the western pier has an L-shaped plan, while the eastern pier is straight. The piers are constructed from coursed rubble, with gravel and clay infills, and feature stone flags on the surface.

The eastern pier is 105 meters long and includes a full-length slipway. The western pier is also approximately 105 meters long, with an eastward return that protects the northern end, which measures 41 meters. There is an entrance at the northeast corner that is 15 meters wide, along with three flights of steps that have been recently renovated. Additionally, the southern wall serves as a retaining wall and includes a corbelled lookout.
