Description
58 Victoria Street in Kirkwall is a mid-19th century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a two-storey, two-bay rectangular-plan symmetrical house, although it has three bays at the ground level. It is situated next to a separately listed two-storey, three-bay house to the north. The exterior is harled with cement margins around the openings at the ground level and features a base course.
On the west (principal) elevation, there is a deep-set timber-framed door in the central bay at ground level, which is topped by a rectangular fanlight. Each bay has a window on both floors flanking the door. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case style. The roof has two evenly spaced rooflights on the west pitch, a grey slate covering, a stone ridge, and a harled, corniced gablehead stack to the south. There is a common, coped stack to the north, stone skews, and uPVC rainwater goods.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1998.
