Description
66A-66B Victoria Street in Kirkwall is a mid-19th century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan symmetrical building, which has been divided internally to create two separate dwellings. The house is positioned at right angles to 4 Victoria Road and features a forestair on the outer right side, leading to a small courtyard at the rear of Numbers 62-62 Victoria Street, which are listed separately. The exterior is constructed of squared and coursed rubble.
On the west (principal) elevation, there is a boarded door located in the bay to the left of the center. Each floor has a window in the bays on either side of this central bay. The first floor also has a forestair leading to a boarded door in the outer right bay.
The windows are four-pane timber sash and case style. The roof is made of grey slate, with a stone ridge and a rubble corniced gablehead stack on the north side.
The interior was not seen during the inspection in 1998.
