Harbour Master's Office, 174 Harbour Street, Irvine Harbour

The Harbour Master's Office, located at 174 Harbour Street in Irvine Harbour, is an early 19th-century single-storey, three-bay house. The building features a combination of rendered and harled surfaces with painted plain margins.

On the north elevation, there is a central doorway with a narrow two-pane rectangular fanlight above it, flanked by windows, and a clock positioned to the right of the door. The west elevation displays a gable end with a window on the left and a splayed wall end on the right. The east elevation is a blank gable end.

The windows are four-pane timber sash and case style, and the roof is covered with dark slate, featuring stone skews and square gablehead stacks. There is a later fanlight added to the north pitch.

The interior was not seen in 1997. Surrounding the property are harled boundary walls that enclose a courtyard at the rear. Within this courtyard, there is a single-storey boathouse that has two bays, is harled, and features grey/green slate skews. Additionally, there is a later timber shed located in the southwest corner of the office.
