Description
Stable Court and Offices at Dippin Lodge in Dippen, Arran, date from the mid-19th century and were remodeled in the late 19th century. This building is a single-storey structure with an attic, designed in an L-shape that extends to create a double-pile L-plan. It is constructed from stugged and snecked cream sandstone rubble, with red rubble sandstone used in the addition, and features a grey slate roof. The windows are modern timber multi-pane sash and case, while there are two original tall octagonal stacks and three corniced square stacks.
On the front elevation, there are paired gables to the left, a stable door to the left, and a window to the right, with a door and three windows located in the recessed bays at the far right. The left return elevation has two windows to the right, with a gable to the left that includes a window and a haydoor to the attic. The right return elevation features paired gables, a door to the left, and a window to the right. The rear elevation consists of three bays to the left, with three windows on the ground floor and a door formed from a window at the gable, which is approached by a forestair; there is also a recessed bay to the right with a door. The interior has not been seen.
