Village Hall, Whiting Bay, Arran

The Village Hall, built in the earlier 20th century, is a rectangular building in Whiting Bay, Isle of Arran. It presents as a classically detailed village hall with a small, slightly later addition to the rear. The exterior is harled and features painted cement dressings, a piended slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, and deep eaves. A base course, string course, and wallhead course are visible on the front elevation, alongside margined windows with deep lintels. The windows are timber sash and case frames, with three vertical panes at the bottom and six panes at the top.

The front elevation has a pair of panelled doors at the centre, topped by an astragalled fanlight and keystoned moulded doorcase. There are windows on either side, and three windows above.

The left return elevation has nine buttressed bays with seven windows. The right return elevation features seven buttressed bays with six windows, and a lower, three-bay addition projecting to the right, which contains steps leading to a pair of panelled doors, and two windows.

The rear elevation consists of various lean-to bays. The interior of the hall was not inspected.
