Description
Dated 1873, the former Parish Church is a rectangular, simple Gothic building in Whiting Bay, Isle of Arran. It is constructed of snecked cream rubble sandstone with ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof. The building features a base course, buttresses with finials, ashlar-coped skews, and a bellcote to the apex of the front gable. Tall, pointed windows are present, some retaining original Y-traceried border glazing.
The front elevation has a two-leaf panelled door in the centre, with a pointed fanlight, moulded doorpiece, and hoodmould, flanked by buttresses. Windows are located to the left and right of the door, and above it. The left return elevation features a single-storey vestry to the left, with two windows and buttresses to the right. The right return elevation has three windows and buttresses. The interior was not inspected.
The church is no longer in ecclesiastical use and is located on the Isle of Arran, in Whiting Bay.
