Reres Lodge, 71 Monifieth Road, Dundee

Reres Lodge, located at 71 Monifieth Road in Dundee, dates from around 1849. This single-storey building was originally designed in an L-plan, with later additions made to it. The structure is built from snecked rubble with tooled ashlar dressings and features a reconstructed stone addition, topped with a slate roof. It has multi-pane sash and case windows that include margined dressings, exposed rafter-ends, deep eaves, and curvilinear bargeboards at the north gable. Notably, there is a crennelated octagonal entrance tower at the re-entrant, corniced octagonal ridge stacks, and a shouldered stack at the south.

On the west elevation, there is an ashlar doorpiece at the tower that includes a heraldic panel, a moulded doorcase, and a tripartite fanlight. The second stage has two blocked openings, with a blank bay to the left and an advanced canted bay to the right featuring a tripartite window and single windows at the angles, all beneath a facetted roof. There is also a flat-roof addition at the far right.

The north elevation shows a gable on the right with a tripartite window and a blank addition to the left. Additionally, there is a gatepier and wall at the south, consisting of an ashlar pyramidal capped gatepier and a rubble boundary wall.
