Lodge, Starley Hall School, Aberdour Road, Burntisland

The Lodge at Starley Hall School, located on Aberdour Road in Burntisland, dates from around 1865, with a 20th-century extension. It is a single-storey, three-bay building with a piended roof. The structure features dressed ashlar stone at the front, with squared and snecked rubble on the sides and rear, and a harled extension. It has a base course and stone mullions.

On the south elevation, there is a timber door at the center, a large canted window with a piended roof to the outer right, and a bipartite window in the outer left bay. The outer left corner is rounded and corbelled to a square below the eaves. The west elevation has a prominent corbelled, shouldered stack at the center, with a window to the outer left. The east elevation features a small window to the outer right. The north elevation includes a projecting harled extension with two windows to the right and one window to the left.

The windows are timber sash and case with an 8- and 12-pane glazing pattern, along with plate glass glazing, and there is a top opening window at the rear. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are cavetto coped ashlar stacks and exposed eaves.
