Description
Bendameer Cottage is a single-storey T-plan gabled cottage with an attic, built around 1875. It features later single-storey service additions to the east. The cottage is constructed from squared and snecked, bull-faced sandstone, with dressed quoins and margins. The bargeboards are simple and include kingposts.
On the west elevation, the principal façade has a projecting gable at the center, with a small window to the left at ground level and a window in the gablehead. To the right, there is a boarded timber door with a 2-pane fanlight. The outer bays have windows, with dormer windows positioned above them.
The east elevation has a gable on the left, featuring a window at ground level in the center, and a single-storey extension to the right that has a window below a cat-slide roof.
The windows throughout the cottage have a 4-pane glazing pattern and are made of timber, including sash and case as well as casement styles. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there is a coped ashlar stack with a clay can. The bargeboarding is plain, with drop finials and exposed eaves.
