Gardener's House, Belton House

Gardener's House at Belton House is a single storey and attic gabled L-plan cottage built in the later 19th century, originally serving as a lodge for Belton House. The structure is made of squared and snecked stugged red sandstone, featuring stugged grey ashlar dressings and chamfered arrises around the openings.

On the northeast elevation, the cottage has three bays, with a gabled outer bay to the right. The central doorway is located in a raised bay and has a shouldered lintel, a boarded door, and a blank square panel above in the gable head. To the right, there is a bipartite window with a penticed slab hood supported by moulded corbels, along with a single attic window in the gable head. The outer left bay contains a single window.

The west elevation features a broad gabled bay to the left, which includes a canted grey ashlar window topped with an overhanging piend roof, along with an attic window in the gable above. The south (rear) elevation has a simplified design with a lean-to outbuilding attached at the re-entrant angle. The east elevation has single windows at both ground and attic levels, showcasing a small-pane glazing pattern in the sash and case windows. Decorative timber pendants and paired eaves brackets adorn the overhanging eaves, which are finished with attenuated finials and grey slates. A coped cluster ridge stack completes the roofline.
