Description

Earlier 19th century. Single storey gabled gate lodge.

Coursed warm cream stugged sandstone with droved

dressings; base course.

S ELEVATION: 3-bay. Advanced gabled porch at centre

with boarded door and decorative fanlight, and blind

slits on return sides; timber crowsteps to porch skews.

Bipartite flanking to left and single window to right.

N ELEVATION: flat-roofed harled later extension.

E ELEVATION: advanced gabled bay at centre with

bipartite, cill course and carved armorial in gable

head.

Plate glass glazing to sash and case windows.

Crowstepped gables with curved skewputts and pyramid

finials. Paired diamond ridge stacks with moulded

coping.

GATEPIERS AND QUADRANTS: rusticated red sandstone

gatepiers with moulded cornice and ball finials;

chamfered ashlar coping to ashlar parapet quadrants.

Small section of cast-iron railings retained to E.
