Lodge, Belton House

The Lodge at Belton House is an earlier 19th-century single-storey gabled gate lodge. It is constructed from coursed warm cream stugged sandstone with droved dressings and features a base course.

On the southeast elevation, the lodge has a three-bay design with an advanced gabled porch at the center. This porch includes a boarded door with a decorative fanlight and blind slits on the return sides. The porch is adorned with timber crowsteps on the skew. To the left of the porch, there are bipartite windows, while a single window is located to the right.

The northeast elevation has a flat-roofed harled extension added later. The east elevation features an advanced gabled bay at the center, which includes a bipartite window with a cill course and a carved armorial in the gable head.

The sash and case windows have plate glass glazing. The crowstepped gables are complemented by curved skewputts and pyramid finials. There are paired diamond ridge stacks with moulded coping.

The gatepiers and quadrants are made of rusticated red sandstone, featuring a moulded cornice and ball finials. The ashlar parapet quadrants have chamfered coping. A small section of cast-iron railings is retained to the east.
