Old School House, Acha Mor, Lewis

The Old School House at Acha Mor, Lewis, is a school building constructed after the 1872 Education Act. It is a single-storey structure with a nearly symmetrical front featuring three bays. The building has timber-mullioned three-light windows throughout and a central gable that is advanced. There are doorways located in each re-entrant angle, with the left doorway set within a small square porch topped with a pyramid roof.

The building is made of rubble with squared dressings, and the window lintels are flat brick arches, with the central lintel rendered. The windows are sash type, with plate glass on the front (which may have originally been astragalled) and small panes in the end gables. The roof is covered with slate and features asymmetrically placed stacks. At the rear, there is a lavatory block that appears to be original, although it has had concrete additions.

The property is enclosed by playground walls made of rubble.
