Description
This is a lowland-type house located at Linishader on the Isle of Lewis, likely serving as a tacksman's house. It dates from the mid to late 18th century but is currently in a neglected state. The building is two stories high with three bays, facing northeast across the loch towards Callanish. It features a tall and narrow central gable that projects forward and contains the entrance in a re-entrant angle, designed to accommodate a stair. There is a lean-to on the southeast gable that is not original. The exterior is harled, and although most of the sash windows have been lost, the house has a slate roof. At the rear, there is a near-centre wall-head stack, asymmetrical fenestration, and two nearly regular bays, with the left-hand bay unwindowed on the first floor. The building also has attic skylights.
In front of the house, there is a walled garden, and an outbuilding is situated to one side.
