Description
Dun Carloway is a roofless shell of a traditional Hebridean-type cottage, situated near the pathway that leads up to the Dun Carloway broch, which lies beneath it. The cottage features massive rubble walls, with wall-heads that are now covered in grass. It has a long, rectangular plan and is unwindowed, with doors facing each other on the long side walls. One door serves as the original main entrance, while the other leads into an integral barn or byre that is attached at the rear.
