Description
The Tea Rooms in Callanish, Lewis, is a traditional Hebridean-type cottage that was formerly thatched. It features an integral outbuilding, which may have served as a byre or barn, located at the north end of the rear (west) wall. As of 1991, it operates as a tearoom. The building is truncated at the south end, with a rendered gable and visible footings of a range that used to be attached. The structure is made of rubble with painted ingoes. On the long east wall, there are two windows and a door, along with a second door leading to a separate compartment at the north end, all under a continuous main roof. The outbuilding has a west-facing doorway and includes stone steps built into the wall alongside, leading up to the wall-head.
