Free Church, Crosbost

The Free Church in Crosbost is a box-type Gothic church that dates from the mid-19th century, possibly around 1843. It features a tall structure with lancet windows throughout, including the doorway opening, and its south side overlooks Loch Leurbost. The exterior is finished with modern dry-dash, and it has a gabled slate roof topped with an apex belfry above the east entrance. The original timber-astragalled glazing has been replaced with modern windows.

Inside, the church has a gallery on three sides, with a timber-panelled front supported by cast-iron columns. The upper tier of these columns supports the roof. The pulpit, along with a precentor's box, is located between two windows on the west gable and is accessed by steps that feature a decorative cast-iron balustrade and a delicately-made lamp bracket. There are also elders' box-pews.

While the perimeter wall appears modern, it includes 19th-century cast-iron brackets over the gatepiers.
