Planasker Primary School And Schoolhouse, Marvig, Lochs

Planasker Primary School and Schoolhouse, located in Marvig, Lochs, is a combined school and schoolhouse built after the 1872 Education Act. It features a T-plan layout, with the house situated at the "cross-bar" of the plan. The building is a single storey with an attic, while the school section is a three-bay rectangular plan, also single storey but with a lower eaves level that integrates into a common ridge level roof, which is slated. The exterior is harled with projecting cills, and it has small-paned sash windows, either single lights or timber-mullioned tripartites on the school flanks. There is a gabled porch on the gable facing the roadside, with its roof extending over a timber-bracketted belfry. The building features wall-head and apex stacks, and there are a pair of axial ventilators over the school that have been cut down.
