Description
The Attendant's House at Arnish Point Lighthouse in Lewis was designed by engineer Alan Stevenson and built in 1853, likely alongside the lighthouse. Both structures are whitewashed with contrasting painted details.
The lighthouse itself is moderately tall and follows a standard design, featuring a battered circular-section tower topped with a domed lantern that has latticed glazing. The front door is framed by a simplified neo-Egyptian doorcase.
Nearby, there are single-storey, flat-roofed houses, with flues over the cross-walls arranged in a 2-3-2 pattern. A walled garden is located at the front of the houses.
