Knockgarry, Stornoway, Lewis

Knockgarry in Stornoway, Lewis, was built around 1811 as a parish manse, although the building's history is complex, with some parts being later additions and others possibly being older. The structure has two storeys and a three-bay front, featuring a flat-roofed central porch that has been added. The walls are now dry-dashed with painted ashlar margins. At the front, all the windows are sash and case, with 12 panes on the ground floor and 4 panes on the first floor. There are end stacks and skews that have moulded skewputts, which are likely not original. The roofs are made of slate. The building also has substantial rear ranges, including a piended range in a double-pile arrangement, with lower ranges extending beyond.
