Description
7 James Street in Stornoway is a modern industrial building from the 1930s, constructed between 1931 and 1940. It features a cream-harled exterior with rendered bands and detailing. The building has horizontally-proportioned glazing with timber and metal frames, and concealed pitched and slated roofs. The front of the building is nearly symmetrical, with a tall centre bay that is set slightly forward, a deep-hooded doorway, and an elongated three-light window above. To the right, there is a gateway flanked by tall piers topped with ball finials.
