Music Department, Morrison's Academy, Ferntower Road, Crieff

The Music Department at Morrison's Academy on Ferntower Road in Crieff is a two-storey, three-bay gabled house built around 1880, which has been converted into classrooms. It features red and cream brick with contrasting cream brick dressings, ashlar cills, and lintels, along with round-headed windows, stone mullions, and chamfered arrises.

The southeast elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a slated swept-roof canopy supported by decorative timber brackets over the central bay at ground level. This area includes a panelled two-leaf timber door and bipartite windows in the flanking bays on both floors, with the first-floor windows breaking the eaves into gableheads.

The southwest elevation consists of three bays, with single windows in the outer bays at ground level and a round-headed bipartite window breaking into the gablehead on the first floor.

On the northwest (rear) elevation, there are three windows on each floor. The ground floor windows are grouped to the left, while the first-floor windows feature outer windows that break the eaves into piended dormerheads, with the central first-floor window being blind.

The northeast elevation has a gabled bay in the center with an altered door at ground level and a stair window above. The building has plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows, a margined stair window, and modern glazing on the southeast side. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped gablehead stacks with a full complement of cans. The eaves overhang with exposed rafters and plain bargeboarding.
