Bute Cottage, Coldwells Road, Crieff

Bute Cottage is an earlier 19th-century single-storey and attic cottage, featuring three bays and situated in an irregular terrace to the east. The exterior is constructed of snecked rubble with raised ashlar margins and droved quoins.

The south elevation is symmetrical, with steps leading up to a deep-set nine-panelled timber door that has a plate glass fanlight above it, flanked by windows in the outer bays. Above these windows are later slate-hung canted dormer windows, and there is a small rooflight at the center.

On the west elevation, there is a gabled section with a blinded window in the center and another window to the outer right. A lower pitch-roofed bay projects to the left, accompanied by a smaller window in the gablehead.

The cottage features original 12-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows, and it is topped with grey slates. The chimney stacks are made of ashlar and have polygonal cans, with ashlar-coped skews.
