Description

East Newton Sawmill is an earlier 19th century single-storey and attic cottage with a rectangular plan and three bays. The front is constructed of snecked rubble, while the sides are made of rubble with stugged and margined ashlar dressings. It has a slate roof and features lattice-paned casement windows, although the bottom panels on the south elevation have been replaced with plate glass. The south elevation includes a central door, a window on each side, and a large gable dormer in the attic. There are also attic windows on the left and right return gables. The north elevation has a door and various windows that are concealed by a steep bank. The interior has not been seen.
