Lodge, Morrison's Academy, Ferntower Road, Crieff

The lodge at Morrison's Academy on Ferntower Road in Crieff was designed by Peddie & Kinnear in 1860. It is a single-storey, two-bay building with a gabled roof and tall chimneys. The exterior is constructed from squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings. It features a shouldered-arch doorway and stone mullions with chamfered arrises.

On the southwest elevation, there is a small gable that projects to the left of the center, with steps leading up to a moulded doorway that has a boarded timber door. To the right, a broader gable also projects and contains a bipartite window along with a blind panel in the gablehead.

The southeast elevation facing Ferntower Road has a canted window in the gabled bay to the left, with a blind panel above it, and a single window in the further gabled bay to the right.

On the northwest elevation, there is a single window in the gabled bay to the right and a flat-roofed extension in the re-entrant angle to the left.

The windows are timber sash and case with glazing patterns of three, eight, and twelve panes. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and the chimneys are coped ashlar with cans. The eaves are deeply overhanging with plain bargeboarding, and there are cast-iron downpipes with decorative fixings.
