Description

Circa 1874. Single storey irregular-plan lodge, with modern addition, to East Morningside House (see separate listing). Bull-faced coursed sandstone with polished dressings. Overhanging timber eaves; bargeboards; chamfered reveals.

E entrance elevation: 3-bay; open timber porch supported by 2 column and corbels in 2nd bay; pierced bargeboard; 2-leaf boarded door. Single storey 2-faced canted window in advanced bay to outer left; blank panel with hoodmoulding above; jerkin-headed gable with iron thistle finial. Bipartite window in bay toouter right.

S elevation: 3-bay extended in sympathetic style to outer left. Single windows in bays to outer right and left; blank hoodmoulded panel with gablet above centre bay. Windows at ground and in attic to advanced bay of extension with jerkin-headed gable.

W elevation: gabled bay to extension with windows at ground and attic. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; ridge stack; original rainwater goods, inluding goods, including hoppers and moulded eaves guttering.

Interior: not seen 1991.
