Description

Garry Bridge is a road bridge built around 1920 for Lord Leverhulme, intended as part of a coastal road along the east side of the island towards Ness. The bridge is made of ferro-concrete and features an impressive design that spans a deep gully with a single wide segmental arch consisting of three ribs. The roadway is shallow-ramped and cantilevered outward, supported by open arcaded spandrels, with blank parapets on either side.
