Description
This is a traditional shieling, one of a significant cluster located in this area, believed to have been constructed primarily in the 19th century. It is a Hebridean-style shieling built into a bank. The walls are of rubble construction, with the doorway on the long front wall having been rebuilt using concrete. A wall-head chimney stack is positioned alongside. The roof is turf-covered and the shieling is enclosed by a fence along the wall-head. The statutory address is CUIASHADER, shieling at OS grid reference NB 5401 5821.
