Description
This is an 1847 house, likely a manse for a Free Church minister, located at Dell, Lewis. The house is a two-storey, three-bay structure, and was noted to be in neglected condition in 1991. The walls are harled, with window margins and sills made of imported ashlar. The central bay is slightly projected and gabled. The main entrance is situated in the re-entrant angle of the advanced bay. The windows are sash windows with 12 panes of glazing. The roof is slate-covered, with skews and gable-head stacks. A gabled rear wing exists, but is currently roofless. The building is listed under Category C(S) due to its current poor condition. A datestone reading "1847" is present, along with the initials "FCM".
