Forbes Arms Hotel, Milltown Of Rothiemay

The Forbes Arms Hotel in Milltown of Rothiemay is a later 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house facing east. It is connected to a later single-storey and attic, three-bay cottage, forming an L-shape. The exterior is harled with some contrasting painted ashlar margins on the front. The central door is concealed by a later projecting gabled porch. There are single windows on the ground and first floors of the south gable, and two segmental-headed dormers on the cottage wing. The front features four-pane glazing, with varied glazing in other areas. The main house has moulded coped end stacks, while the cottage has a single ornate chimney can on the east end stack, and both sections have slate roofs.

There have been various alterations at the rear, including a later projecting two-storey canted window and two canted dormers.
