Description
Dell Lodge is a later 18th century, two-storey house with an attic over a basement, featuring a five-bay east-facing facade that is mainly harled. The front is symmetrical, with a slightly advanced central bay. The entrance is highlighted by a fine nine-fielded-panel door and an almost square fanlight with decorative radial glazing. There is an oculus in the gablet with an apex stack, and a pair of piended dormers. The ground floor has two longer windows on the return of the south gable, along with a modern oriel window on the first floor. At the rear, there is a projecting stairwell with a piended roof and a long multi-pane glazed window. The main house has 12-pane glazing, coped end stacks, and slate roofs.
To the rear (west), there is a long single-storey and attic wing, along with a later three-storey wing made of white painted corrugated iron at the northwest. Inside, the staircase features simple turned wooden balusters, and there are six-panel doors with beaded panelling and moulded architraves, as well as similarly panelled window shutters. Additionally, a pair of late 19th century single-storey service cottages adjoin the rear wing of the main house, forming a U-plan courtyard.
