Description

Later 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay E facing house with

single storey, 3-bay wing projecting at N gable and further

2-storey wing projecting at rear (possibly 2 builds,

completed by 1825) forming L-plan. Mainly whitewashed harl

with ashlar margins (painted to street); some rear rubble

walling remains without harl. Centre door, further entrance

off-centre in N wing. 2-bay rear wing with large windows

ground and 1st floor in outer W bay. Diminutive centre gable

attic window to N and S gables; 12- and 16-pane glazing

pattern. Stair turret with conical roof at NW re-entrant

angle.

Moulded copes to end stacks, that servicing single storey

wing at N considerably heightened; run-off skewputts; graded

Banffshire slate roof; stone ridge.

INTERIOR: some fielded panelled doors and window shutters.

GARDEN WALLS: high rubble garden walls enclose property with

frontage to Duke and Castle Streets.
