Hadlow House, 22 The Square, Fochabers

Hadlow House, located at 22 The Square in Fochabers, is a house from the later 19th century, possibly incorporating an earlier core. It is a 2-storey and attic structure with three bays, and it features a slightly later addition at the north gable that creates a continuous four-bay frontage. The building is constructed of tooled rubble with tooled ashlar dressings.

The house has a wide, corniced doorway at the center, flanked by narrow side-lights and a panelled door, with bipartite windows on either side. The outer first-floor windows (in bays one and three) have crenellated and canted wooden oriels. The later bay at the north includes a garage entrance on the ground floor and a single window above. The windows have chamfered margins, and there are two canted dormers and two wooden gabletted dormers, featuring both two-pane and four-pane glazing. The house has corniced stacks at the ends and ridge, and it is topped with a slate roof. The south gable returns to the High Street.
