Description
12 The Square in Fochabers is a late 18th century, south-facing house with two stories and an attic, featuring three bays. The front is made of tooled, squared rubble with tooled ashlar margins at the return gable facing Duke Street. It has a central door and regular window arrangement, with single windows on the ground and first floors of the west gable. The outer bays have later 19th century canted dormers and 4-pane glazing. The house has moulded copes on the end stacks, flat skews with run-off skewputts, and a graded Banffshire slate roof with a stone ridge.
Additionally, there is a two-storey return wing on Duke Street, which is irregular with three bays and harled walls. It features a central door with 4-pane glazing, shaped wallhead, coped end stacks, and a slate roof.
