Description

The dovecot at Rothiemay House dates from the mid-18th century and is square in shape. It is constructed of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. The south elevation features two doorways located in the outer bays, with a round-headed blind recess between them. Similar blind recesses can be found on the north, east, and west elevations. The roof is gabled and covered with corrugated iron, which replaced the original roof that was damaged during a storm.

Inside, the dovecot has a two-chambered layout, but only one of the chambers is lined with stone nesting boxes.
