Description
The Mill House in the Milltown of Rothiemay is an early 19th-century building that likely includes some fabric from the 18th century. It has a west-facing, single-storey and attic design with an irregular five-bay frontage and a substantial single-storey rear wing. The building is harled with a rubble rear wing, featuring tooled granite margins and dressings. The main entrance is located in the three-bay section of the house, with an additional entrance in the outer bay of the northern portion. There is a later 19th-century projecting canted window on the ground floor to the left of the main doorway. The roof features four small windows in later gabled dormers, along with a single ground and attic window in the southern gable. The glazing mainly consists of four- and twelve-pane windows, and the building has coped end and ridge stacks with slate roofs.
