Description
The Coulard in Lossiemouth is a house built around 1830 in the style of William Robertson. It is a two-storey structure with a raised basement and features a symmetrical three-bay front with a central door. The exterior has modern harl with contrasting painted tooled ashlar margins.
Access to the entrance is via a flight of steps with a renewed handrail. The house has deep east and west gables, with the east side displaying a symmetrical four-bay arrangement of windows, one of which is blind and another that has been converted into an additional entrance, also approached by steps with a harled balustrade. A similar entrance is found on the west side. The low first-floor windows are positioned close to the eaves and are linked by an eaves/lintel course, with most featuring 12-pane glazing. The shallow piended slate roof has paired ridge stacks located centrally.
Inside, the house has been remodelled, and the staircase has been partially removed.
At the eastern front of the property, there is a rubble garden wall, with the entrance flanked by a pair of square tooled gatepiers topped with shallow pyramidal caps.
