Description
Kinnore, located at 2 King Street in Elgin, is a substantial house built around 1820 in the style of William Robertson. The building features two storeys above a raised basement and has a three-bay façade with a central door that is accessed by a flight of steps. The exterior is constructed of rubble with finely tooled margins and a bandcourse, and it includes long and short quoins. The windows have three-pane glazing in the upper sash and two-pane glazing in the lower sash. The roof is shallow and piended, topped with paired, panelled, and corniced chimney stacks at the centre.
To the east gable, there is a two-bay extension, which also has a piended roof. Additionally, there is a rubble gighouse and stable that have been converted for garage use. The property is enclosed by high rubble garden walls.
