Description
The Lodge, located at 20 Duff Avenue in Elgin, is a single-storey, three-bay villa designed by A and W Reid in 1898. The building is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar dressings.
The front elevation features a central porch with pilasters and a pediment, which is connected to a pilastered canted bay on the left by a continuous frieze. To the right, there is a bipartite window. At the southwest corner, a pilastered drum turret includes a blind bull's eye in the frieze and a coursed cornice, topped with a conical slate roof. The main entablature extends along the side elevations, and there are symmetrically placed corniced stacks on a piended platform slate roof. Additionally, there is a later rear wing.
