Garden, Stobsmill House, Gorebridge

Stobsmill House features a rectangular plan walled garden dating from around 1795. The garden walls are constructed of snecked sandstone rubble with flat coping, and they have a coursed rubble inner lining. The long and short droved quoins at the northeast and northwest corners are stop-chamfered. The walls slope down to the south and have curved corners at the southeast and southwest. There are chamfered doorways with relieving arches on the west and east sides, fitted with replacement boarded timber doors.

To the west, there is a single-storey potting shed with an off-centre arched doorway to the left and a window with a relieving arch to the outer left. The bays on the right have collapsed and have been replaced by a shelter with a corrugated iron roof. Inside the north wall, there is evidence of greenhouses, including a small greenhouse at the centre of the west wall and a corrugated iron shelter to the left.
