27 Victoria Road, Gourock

27 Victoria Road in Gourock is a two-storey Arts and Crafts villa built around 1910. The exterior features white harl with red sandstone dressings and a bull-faced rubble base course at the front. It has ashlar mullions and transoms, as well as overhanging eaves with exposed rafters.

The north (front) elevation has three bays, with a broad advanced bay on the outer left that includes two-storey quadripartite canted windows and a piended roof. The centre bay features a tripartite window at the ground floor and a bipartite window at the first floor, which breaks the eaves in a half-timbered gablehead with a plain bargeboard. The outer right bay is recessed and has an ashlar doorpiece with a roll-moulded shouldered-arched doorway, blind transom lights, a keystoned cornice, and a boarded door with prominent hinges, along with a small window above at the first floor.

On the east elevation, there is a projecting inglenook fireplace on the outer right with a tall wallhead stack that is linked to the roof, as well as small stained glass windows with cill band courses on the flanks. The left bay has bipartite windows.

The west elevation features a narrow bipartite stained glass vestibule window on the left and two wallhead stacks, one in the centre that is shouldered and linked to the roof.

The south (rear) elevation includes a harled forestair on the outer left that provides access to a first-floor doorway.

The villa has timber sash and case windows, with small-pane upper sashes and plate glass lower sashes at the first floor, while the ground floor has replacement windows. The roof is covered in green slate with red ridge tiles and finials, and there are three wallhead stacks.

A rubble boundary wall with semicircular coping surrounds the property.
