The Croft, 19 Victoria Road, Gourock

The Croft, located at 19 Victoria Road in Gourock, is a 2-storey asymmetrical Scottish Arts and Crafts villa built around 1910. The exterior features white harl with some sandstone details, an eaves band, timber mullions and transoms, and bipartite windows with transoms on the ground floor.

On the front elevation, there is a gabled bay to the left with ashlar skews and a gablehead. The corner to the outer left is chamfered and has narrow windows, with an ashlar corbel above the ground floor. The roll-moulded ashlar doorway, located off-centre to the right, has an angled cornice above geometric motifs and is accessed by steps with a harled parapet. The doorway features a 2-leaf panelled door. The ground floor also includes bipartite windows and a window in the gablehead. To the right, there are two narrow windows at the ground floor and a bipartite window at the first floor that breaks the eaves in a boarded gablehead. The outer right corner is curved.

The west elevation has an advanced curved corner bay to the outer left, topped with a conical roof and featuring three bipartite windows. A bipartite window on the first floor also breaks the eaves. To the right, there is a single-storey bay with two narrow windows, a steep roof pitch, and a tripartite dormer in the re-entrant angle with the corner bay. The windows are timber casements, with leaded panes in the upper lights and plate glass glazing in the lower lights, while the first floor has small-pane casements. The roof is covered with purple slate, and there are wallhead stacks to the east and south.

The front of the property is bordered by a rubble wall with flat coping. The interior details were not seen in 1993.
