Description
39 Tower Drive is a two-storey asymmetrical villa built around 1910, featuring Art Nouveau details and currently subdivided. The exterior is finished with white harl and cream sandstone dressings, and the building has a battered base to the bays, ashlar mullions, and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters.
The west elevation has three bays, with a canted corner bay on the outer left that includes tripartite windows and a finialled pyramidal roof. There is a Mackintosh-inspired floral motif on the apron of the first-floor windows. The centre bay has two windows, while the outer right bay features a canted window on the ground floor and bipartite windows above.
On the south elevation, the slightly advanced centre bay contains a doorway that is mostly obscured by a modern garage extension. Above the doorway are two narrow windows and the floral motif mentioned earlier, along with two wallhead stacks.
The north elevation has a lower two-storey projection with side lights and a prominent harled dog-leg forestair, which is a later addition leading to the doorway. Above this is a segmental-arched tripartite window with stained glass, along with a wallhead stack.
The villa features timber sash and case windows with small-pane upper sashes and plate glass lower sashes on the first floor, while the ground floor has modern replacement windows. The roof is piended and platformed with a bellcast slate covering and metal flashings, and there are three wallhead stacks.
The boundary walls consist of a stepped harled wall topped with flat sandstone coping.
